HubMed, a New PubMed/MEDLINE Interface

The HubMed website is an alternative PubMed MEDLINE interface. There are numerous useful and unique features, including and RSS newsfeed that can be read by newsreader software such as NewzCrawler (Windows), NetNewsWire Pro (OS X) or Amphetadesk (cross-platform). The feed is updated daily, so you can read the latest MS abstracts every morning along with CNN and the New York Times. Another feature that is fun to play with is the citation occurrence plot, as shown below for a search using the word ‘electrospray.’ The plot shows the total yearly occurrences of that word in MEDLINE citations.

Analytical Chemistry Now Up on ACS Paragon System

From ACS:

We are pleased to announce that authors who contribute to Analytical Chemistry have a new way to save time and simplify the manuscript submission process.

On February 4, 2003, the American Chemical Society released the ACS Paragon System for Analytical Chemistry. Now 19 ACS journals offer the benefits of Paragon. Implementation of this new system will continue for other ACS journals through 2003.
