The third and final draft (PDF) of the Standard Definitions of Terms Relating To Mass Spectrometry document is up on the MS Terms website. This draft is currently undergoing peer review and will be the last draft before publication. 1. I notice that you chose to denigrate “fragment ion” in favor of “product ion”. I tend to disagree as I find fragment ion in much broader use – more to the point however is that the team seems to disagree as in the definition of a, b, x, y, etc. ions you go against your own rules and refer to them as “fragment ions”. I admire your efforts – but please try to follow your own rules.
