DRAFT DEFINITION
Mass spectrograph
An instrument that separates a beam of ions according to their mass-to-charge ratio in which the ions are directed onto a focal plane detector such as a photographic plate.
Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission
