The assignment was to create a new article or move an existing article up two spots on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mass_spectrometry\/Assessment#Quality_scale\" target=\"_blank\">WikiProject article quality grading scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The articles were<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electron_transfer_dissociation\" target=\"_blank\">Electron transfer dissociation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Surface-enhanced_laser_desorption\/ionization\" target=\"_blank\">Surface-enhanced laser desorption\/ionization<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sample_preparation_in_mass_spectrometry\" target=\"_blank\">Sample preparation in mass spectrometry<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electron_ionization\" target=\"_blank\">Electron ionization<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Surface-assisted_laser_desorption\/ionization\" target=\"_blank\">Surface-assisted laser desorption\/ionization<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electron_capture_ionization\" target=\"_blank\">Electron capture ionization<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nanoscale_secondary_ion_mass_spectrometry\" target=\"_blank\">Nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Immunoproteomics\" target=\"_blank\">Immunoproteomics<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fast_atom_bombardment\" target=\"_blank\">Fast atom bombardment<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chemi-ionization\" target=\"_blank\">Chemi-ionization<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The students elected to improve articles rather than create new ones: six <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Category:Stub-Class_Mass_spectrometry_articles\" target=\"_blank\">stubs<\/a> were improved to  <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Category:C-Class_Mass_spectrometry_articles\" target=\"_blank\">C Class<\/a> and four <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Category:Start-Class_Mass_spectrometry_articles\" target=\"_blank\">Start Class<\/a> were improved to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Category:B-Class_Mass_spectrometry_articles\" target=\"_blank\">B Class<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All of the articles are the top Google hit for the article title, but this is to be expected for most mass spectrometry terms. More impressive are the images created by the students that are currently top ten Google hits for their associated terms. Even simple images are useful and because they can be shared.
