I have recently been looking the ancestry of a John TANNAHILL, spouse of

Ann HENDERSON (alas no sign of this marriage).<\/p>\n

They had the following children that I know of. All born Huntingdon QUE
\n
CAN.<\/p>\n

James Alexander 1866-03-12
\n
Elizabeth Anne 1868-01-12
\n
John Robert 1870-12-31
\n
William George 1872-12-16
\n
Robert Edward 1874-12-07
\n
Mary Louisa 1877-04-21
\n
Hugh Allan McGibbon 1879-01-11
\n
Margaret Janet 1880-10-27<\/p>\n

They were bapt at either at the Church of Scotland or Presbyterian
\n
Church Huntingdon QUE.<\/p>\n

It looks like from the 1851 census (transcripts kindly sent by a
\n
Huntingdon researcher) of the area, John could have been one the
\n
following four (4) :-<\/p>\n

(1) John, born Canada, 5 y\/o in the census therefore born c1846,
\n
Most likely Son of Hugh TANNAHILL & Margaret MACK.<\/p>\n

(2) John, born Scot., 8 y\/o in the census therefore born c1843,
\n
Most likely Son of Mathew TANNAHILL & Elizabeth CHAMBERS
\n
(recorded as being born 1844-04-04 in Huntingdon parish records !)<\/p>\n

(3) John, born Canada., 6 y\/o in the census therefore born c1845,
\n
Most likely Son of John TANNAHILL & Marion COBURN (sic) AKA CALDWELL<\/p>\n

(4) John, born Canada, 8 y\/o in the census therefore born c1843
\n
Most likely son of William TANNAHILL & Jennet WHITE<\/p>\n

Most of the ancestry of the above families is known, it is only a matter
\n
of picking which John.<\/p>\n

note:- he might be none of the above, Huntingdon seems to have been a
\n
honeypot to different TANNAHILL families (to the anguish of some
\n
TANNAHILL researchers of the area)<\/p>\n

The only John that is in the index of Huntingdon baptisms\/births I have
\n
is no2 but the other 3 all have their siblings recorded there.<\/p>\n

As I am going over to Salt Lake City, UT, USA shortly I will look into
\n
it further.<\/p>\n
